Taichung, Taiwan — August 15, 2025
On August 15, Oh-Young Language Center successfully hosted a vibrant and flavorful Language Exchange Event with Soybean Pudding Challenge that brought together language learners, cultural enthusiasts, and food lovers from around the world. The event offered participants a unique opportunity to improve their language skills while diving into Taiwan’s beloved traditional dessert, douhua — a silky-soft tofu pudding often paired with sweet toppings.
The highlight of the event was an interactive “Mission Bingo” game designed to encourage participants to step outside their comfort zones and actively engage with one another. Each participant received a bingo card and could find the fun and meaningful tasks on the poster on the wall.
The missions include introducing themselves in a new language, sharing a fun fact about their home country, or teaching someone a simple sentence in their mother tongue.
Every time a task was completed, participants could get one box checked on their bingo card by asking the mission buddy to sign. Once they achieved lines of bingo, they could get a bowl of freshly made douhua. This playful format made learning both dynamic and rewarding, breaking down cultural and language barriers in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was full of energy and laughter. Participants from diverse backgrounds — including Taiwan, Korea, Türkiye, France, and beyond — engaged in lively conversations, exchanged cultural insights, and formed new friendships.
The event emphasizes the Oh-Young Language Center’s specialty of fulfilling an immersive learning experience. By blending language practice with cultural exchange and community interaction, the center provides opportunities that go beyond the classroom.
The Oh-Young team expressed gratitude to all attendees and hinted at more creative events in the future, promising more chances to explore the richness of languages and cultures in fun, engaging ways.
